Today’s Bite-Sized Self-Care: Fresh Air & Sunshine
As I mentioned in yesterday's post, much of my time is spent at the computer, often leading to long hours indoors. However, when the weather is nice, I sometimes work from my backyard, and on these days, I've noticed positive changes in my mood and energy levels due to the fresh air and sunshine.
Building on yesterday's idea of incorporating stretching to counteract the effects of sitting, today I want to shift our attention outdoors. Today's self-care tip is simple yet powerful: get some fresh air and, if possible, some sunshine. This not only offers a break from the indoor environment but also infuses your day with a dose of vitamin D.
On a personal note, I find this especially important during the winter months. With shorter daylight hours, I often experience feelings of tiredness and sadness, a common symptom of Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD). This mood disorder affects many people in the colder, darker months, and getting even a little bit of sunlight can make a significant difference.
Today’s Challenge:
Take a short break and step outside today. Even just a few minutes outdoors can be beneficial. Whether it's a quick walk, sipping your coffee in the sunshine, or enjoying a book in the fresh air, these small moments can help refresh your mind and body.
What outdoor activities boost your mood?
Cherishing every ray of sunshine,
