New Year's Challenge: 30 Days of Bite-Sized Self-Care
30 days of bite-sized self-care, starting on January 1, 2024.
Many of you may know that I’m currently not working. There are various reasons for this, but given my father's health situation and feelings of burnout after nearly two decades of continuous work, I chose to take a brief sabbatical. I've been using this time to care for my dad, focus on self-care, and dedicate time to my writing and other hobbies.
As I think about the upcoming year, I’ve been reflecting on what I want out of 2024 and how I want it to be different from 2023. One thing is clear–I’d like to spend more time doing things I love, rather than things I feel I should be doing. And that leads me to this post.
In the past, I’ve celebrated the new year with a 30-day blogging challenge. However, this year, I'm shifting my focus from my personal blog to daily posts here on QUALITY BOSS. I’d like to share some bite-sized self-care tips with you.
Each day, I’ll present a different self-care idea, often accompanied by personal anecdotes. The aim is for each self-care idea to be something small (aka bite-size), that will typically take 5 minutes or less. I hope you find this series enjoyable and inspiring. Remember, it’s up to you to take care of yourself, and addressing burnout symptoms early is crucial before reaching rock bottom.
And don’t worry, Quality Engineering Basics will continue, and along with other content, in February!
Make sure to subscribe and/or check back on January 1st for your first bite-sized self-care tip!
How do you currently do self-care?
Happy self-care journey,
Brie
