Today’s Bite-Sized Self-Care: Eat a Healthy Snack
If you’re like me, it can be hard to prioritize healthy eating along with everything else going on in life. I often reach for easy things and more often than not, that means junk food. Chips are one of my biggest weaknesses.
A lot of the convenience of junk food lies in its simplicity and ready-to-eat form factor. One way to make healthy food more appealing is to make it easier to consume. This might mean stocking the fridge with fresh produce regularly, and prepping things in advance so they are grab-and-go. If it’s just as convenient as junk food, it makes the choice a lot easier.
Another pro tip is to put the things you want to eat where they are highly visible and hide (or don’t even buy) the things you don’t want. Put fresh fruit on the counter, keep easy to eat, pre-cut veggies front and center in your fridge, and banish the chips and cookies to the basement or laundry room.

One of my favorite healthy snacks is apple slices with peanut butter. I even own an apple slicer/corer1 that makes it a snap to cut apples into perfect slices.
