Today, we're turning our attention to a simple yet profound act of self-love: the self-embrace. Yes, today is all about giving yourself a big, warm hug!
Why? Well, it turns out that hugging yourself is more than just a feel-good gesture. It’s proven to reduce stress, soothe your nervous system, increase self-compassion, and even boost your mood1. Think of it as a cozy, self-care bear hug.
During the pandemic, and even now, many of us have experienced heightened feelings of isolation. The absence of physical contact with our loved ones has taken an emotional toll. This self-hug is a way to fill that gap, to remind ourselves that we are not alone, and to provide the comfort and warmth we all need and deserve.
