Good overview of understanding how change can affect people, teams, and organisations. I’ve not heard of the ADKAR and Kubler-Ross models so thanks for sharing.

I have a question: At what point in the change process should a change manager decide to overcome resistance instead of learning from the resisters? Can you help me with this question? Thank you very much

Great question! Honestly, it depends entirely on the situation.

If the change absolutely must happen and cannot be altered in any fashion, then you need to work on helping folks accept and deal with the change.

If the change has to happen on a quick timeline, there isn't always time to socialize and solicit input. Again, here you have to do your best to help people accept and deal with the change.

Whenever you are in the situation where you have to force a change through without being able to adequately prepare people in advance, do your best to listen to their input anyway, and to be open to iterations or adjustments after the fact where possible.

And I'd add that please do all of this with compassion and empathy!
